Guide to Sewer Crashing in Neverwinter

Sewer crashing is fun. In order to gain enterance to the sewers, you are supposed to go to the Kraken Islands and fight some beholders to get a badge of a Neverwinter sewer worker. Yuo then take this badge to the sewers. When you enter the sewer map you will see a door. When you move onto the space beside the door you will be challenged to drop your pass in the slot. If you don't you will be told to go away. However, you can just kick down the door and barge in. Then the fun begins.

There are two fights you must get through to gain enterance to the sewers proper:

  1. Once you kick down the door you will be jumped on by iron and stone golems. The irons come with 80 HP. Stone golems will slow you, so you should be globed to protect against this. In order to hit stone golems, you need a +2 weapon, for irons, you need a +3. Offensive spells do not work for the most part. Spells will have no effect on stone golems. Lightning bolts will slow iron golems, but will not do any damage. Fireballs will heal iron golems, so do not even think of casting them.

The strategy to use in this fight is to have players keep the fight going, so the people who die can run to the inn and back. Don't carry any unreadied itmes because you will likely die a lot. This fight does not yeild any treasure, but it's a lot of fun (the insanity of it, knowing you will die anyway). The exp that is given for this fight varies widly.

    ITB Master has this contribution:

OK OK so Iam a newbie jumping PVP'r and cant wait to find newbs at the door fight I also have a Pal/MU. Just wanted to pass on a few points about the door fight and how to win it. First I think the best pc for the door fight is a Pal/mu with a +3 LS or two hander cast all your standard prep spells(but haste & globe) outside. Enter the fight (thats why I use a +3 LS and a +3 shield better AC for the entry). OK the odds are ya next to a bunch of golens so dont more, but if you can get to a corner. OK now cast blink and have an extra, I never see fighters using blink and it saves your ass in any golen fight. Ok so they cant hit you and you can hit them but the damn stone golens keep slowing you so DONT cast haste its only wasted. Kill only the stone golens at first leve the iron till last, once the stones are dead then haste and its just a hack and slash then. IT works try it. OH one more thing you dont need a pass to door bash the sewer.

FIrst of all, I don't agree that you should cast blink and then globe for two reasons. One, It takes up two rounds. Two, it takes up two spell places that can be used to hold lightning bolts. Remember that he is primarily thinking of PvP so his strategy differs accordingly. Second it is very likely that you will get hit when trying to globe, and will be exposed to the slowing effects of the stone golems which brings me to number three, you can cast hate outside, and if you are globed the golems won't slow you. Fourth, I never claimed you needed a pass to try to crash.

  2. Once you finish the first fight you can move north or east. You cannot camp in the sewers, it is like any outdoor area and you will trigger a fight. If you move east and try to camp you will trigger a fight with cyclopsin and harpies, with a couple of rats thrown in. If you move north right away you will trigger another fight with iron golems, this time with rhemorhaz, two beholders, and a single medusa. If you want to survive this fight you must time your earlier fight to have most of your parters just returned from the inn and fully rested. I have never gotten beyond the second fight myself , but from looking at a map it is apparent that this is the last fight you need. Good luck!!

There are two methods for fighting beholders. The most popular is "dancing", where each round you run away from the beholders, to make them attack you, then go back and hit them. Usually this is done under the effect of speed and enlarge spells. However the presence of iron golems does not make this method practical for this fight. The second is to have one player cast invis 10' radius, then have the others stand next to him and attack while the original player does nothing. This way the beholders can't gaze at you, even though the NPCs will attack you because invis with more than one person in the combat doesn't work right. Note that invis 10' rad when cast will effect all players on the square if cast outside battle. You must be careful when using this that you don't come under the effect of a beholder fear spell and lose your invis.

Remember that the sewers is PVP area! PVP fights happen frequently by the first fight.

I am looking for more on sewer crashing for this page. If you are an experienced sewer crasher please email me so I can let everyone know. I will give you credit.
