So Archos came across some press release about Insightbb overing another tier of Broadband called Insight 20.0. They had recently upgraded their subscriber base to the new Insight Broadband 10.0 with 10mb DL and 1mb UL. So when I heard about the 20.0, I thought we were due for another upgrade. My excitement quickly subsided when the details were uncovered.

This service was going to be on a "First Come First Serve" basis. This puzzled me because I didn't think "Granny" who uses her internet to send cards to the grandkids once every other month should take priority over users who are "POWER USERS" like my household is. Surely if they were going to offer it they would offer it to everyone... or no one. Then it made more sense when the fact that it's not going to be some "Free" upgrade. Nope there is a higher cost for it so I promptly found the "Press Release" to get the details.. Because ya know, I gotz to have 20mb DL dammit.

In my excitement the 2 looked like a 1 in the "$20.00 more a month charge" sentence. So that is what I mistakenly told Ralved when mentioning about the new Bandwidth Tier. $10.00 a month might e worth it since we are hardcore on the PC.

We have an extra phone line that is a hold out from the "Dial-up" days... For you young ins, us old folks actually had to use a phone line to get on the internet and if you have more than one person who likes to get on the internet and only one phone line.. Well bruises ribs, cuts fingers scratch faces and black eyes are the result. This was costing us around $10.00 a month so it sounded like a good trade off.. 10mb more bandwidth for a phone line we never use.

Then came the big let down. I call Insight to obtain the prize, but because I'm dyslexic or I have AADHD, or just plain can't read I was informed that it was not $10.00 a month but $20.00 a month.. well we didn't want our bill to go up so I pretty much started telling the sales person that we will have to pass.... And the following is why having Insight as our ISP is like Christmas everyday...

The sales person proceeded to examine our current package and re campaigned us so that we have MORE cable channels, the 20mb Broadband and our price is lower than what we were paying!

We gave up the one phone line which actually was costing us around $15.00 a month with all the FCC extra charges and other fees.

I love my cable company...
